Horse Racing | Chairman's Stakes

The Chairman’s Stakes is a Group 3 race held at the Sandown Racecourse during the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival. This year the Chairman's Stakes has been moved from the Manfred Stakes Day to a day of its own, the Chairman's Stakes Day. It is a race for baby sprinters, covering a distance of just 1000m and offering $150,000 in prize money.

Horses that partake in this event tend to go on to compete in either the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude or, for the classier contenders, the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes. Legendary sire Redoute’s Choice won the Chairman’s Stakes in 1999.
