Last weekend of the A-League was one that mirrored results from two weeks earlier; all 10 teams were either winners or losers with no draws taking place. Sydney FC defeated champions Adelaide last weekend 2-0, while down the road on the Sunday; the Wanderers inflicted the same score on the Jets. Thursday saw Melbourne City maintain the pace with other finals contenders, while the Roar earned much-needed win against the Phoenix in Wellington and the Victory succumbed to the Glory 2-1 in Perth.
As Sydney and the Victory prepare to face in what can only be described as arguably the biggest match of the season; the Sky Blues remain undefeated but UBET markets suggest that could possibly come to an end on Thursday night. On Friday night, Newcastle clashes with Melbourne City and on Saturday the Mariners play the Glory and the Roar host the Wanderers. The Final match of the weekend is in Adelaide where the Reds take on the Phoenix.
This weekend sees arguably the match of the season take place between the two ladder leaders Sydney FC and Melbourne City on Friday night in the Harbour City. The Sky Blues start this one as overwhelming favourites but don’t put it beyond Melbourne City to cause the upset because of the strike power of Tim Cahill and the all-round general form of the team.
Last weekend of the A-League didn’t produce any overly surprising results as the Roar again secured another draw with their first penalty of the year and Sydney FC again ‘suffered’ another draw after sharing the points with Brisbane in round seven.
