Anzac Day Cup | NRL | UBET

The Anzac Day Cup is an annual National Rugby League match between the St George-Illawarra Dragons and the Sydney Roosters. The match was first introduced in 2002 to honour the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

Since its inception, the Anzac Day Cup has become the one of the highlights of the regular NRL season. At the time, it pitted two heavyweights against each other in the form the Dragons and the Roosters. With the Last Post still ringing in the ears of players and fans, this has become more than just a fixture; it is about pride and passion. On April 25th, 2002, it was the Roosters who finished on top, downing the Dragons 24-20 in front of a near sell-out crowd at Allianz Stadium. But it is the Dragons who have had the last laugh, having won this epic encounter eight times in 13 years.
