The next edition of the world’s top basketball competition, North America’s National Basketball Association (NBA), will begin on Tuesday October 27, 2015 when the Cleveland Cavaliers face the Chicago Bulls at the United Center in Chicago. After 1230 regular season games, the playoffs will kick off on April 16, 2016 before the Finals get underway from June 2, 2016.
A strong contingent of Australian players will again grace the league, led by last year’s Championship winning centre Andrew Bogut, as well as the surprise packet of last year’s finals in Matthew Dellavedova, and San Antonio’s fan favourite Patty Mills.
Australian’s aside, this is shaping as one of the most anticipated seasons to date as last year’s surprise winners, the Golden State Warriors, become the hunted. Runners up Cleveland Cavaliers will be banking on Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving getting on the court for longer periods of the year to support LeBron James in his quest to bring Cleveland the Championship they have so long desired. The chasing pack will be led by San Antonio with their big off season recruit LaMarcus Aldridge , as well as Oklahoma City as they hope Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook get more time together this year.
