Day two of The Championships is one of the biggest racing events on the Australian Racing Calendar. It features a ten-race card, with four Group 1s, a pair of Group 2s and a Group 3 race run in mid-April each year. Like Day 1 of The Championships, the second day is run at Sydney’s prestigious Royal Randwick Racecourse and is recognised as the pinnacle event of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.
Horses from all over the world compete in the Australian Turf Club hosted event, and with total prize money of more than $18 million for the taking across the two days, it’s a chance for those attending to witness some truly legendary horses. With $9.5m in prize money on offer, races on Day 2 include the ATC Queen Elizabeth Stakes, ATC Australian Oaks, Sydney Cup, Queen Of The Turf Stakes, Royal Sovereign Stakes, Sapphire Stakes and Princess Stakes.
