FORM SUMMARY

Jon Snow makes his first Australian appearance, coming into the race a 2.5 length 3rd to Gingernuts in the NZ Derby last start. Wine Bush has placed in heavy ground and should appreciate getting back against his own age, his 3 starts this prep all in benchmark events and the blinkers have been added to his gear for this. Acatour has come through the Hobartville, then the Randwick Guineas where he didn’t get the clearest passage and he gets out beyond a mile for the first time in his career. Geelong Classic winner Captain Duffy has been well held his two starts this prep, but he can be an improver getting out to 2000m. Prized Icon has had his supporters, yet he was scratched from the Randwick Guineas to avoid a heavy track and then in the Rosehill Guineas was beaten 17 lengths on the heavy track. RACE SUMMARY

Captain Duffy will look to slide forward early with My Kind also pressing towards the front in the early stages from a good alley. Noble Truth has the inside gate and the outsider of the field raced on the pace at his most recent start at Newcastle and he can look to be in the firing line early. Prized Icon won’t want to be too far away after being too far back in the Rosehill Guineas, with Wine Bush looking to settle mid-field. Jon Snow has a wide gate and they might wait to see how the early races play before they make a firm decision on where they position him in the run.
