Horse Racing | Show County Quality

The Show County Quality is a Group 3 race held at the famous Royal Randwick Racecourse. Taking place during the Warwick Stakes Day during the Sydney Spring Carnival, it covers a distance of 1200m and is raced under quality handicap conditions. The event is named in honour of the handy sprinter Show County, who posted a string of victories as a two-year-old and three-year-old in 1988 and 1999, winning such races as the Breeders Plate, the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes, the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate, the Group 2 Skyline Stakes, the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes, the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes and the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes.

Starting off as a Listed Race in 1993, the Show County Quality reached Group 3 status in 2013. Notable winners of this event include; Terravista (2014), Rebel Dane (2013), Moment Of Change (2012) and Might And Power (1997).
