The 2016 Queensland Winter Racing Carnival officially runs from April 16 through to July 2. Incorporating the provincial tracks of Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Ipswich and their feature races, the light really shines on the carnival at the principal metropolitan tracks of Doomben and Eagle Farm.
Introduced for the 2016 Queensland Winter Racing Carnival, the UBET Super Six Trainers Challenge will see points awarded to the trainer of any horse that finishes 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any Black Type race on the designated Super Six racedays.
First held in 1924, the Tattersall's Cup is one of the oldest races held in Brisbane. This Group 3 Open Handicap is run over 2200 metres and has $200,000 in prize money on offer.
A Group 3 Quality Handicap, the W.J. Healy Stakes takes place during the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival. Run over a distance of 1200 metres at Eagle Farm, it features some of the best sprinters from across the state.

After 12 starts now, the colt is yet to miss a place and despite finishing 3rd in the G3 Grand Prix over 2200m at Doomben, he would have lost no admirers.
The last Group 1 race for the season for the 2 year old’s the J. J. Atkins is run over 1600m at set weights with colts & geldings carrying 57kg and fillies carrying 55kg. The race offers total prizemoney of $600,000 and will be run at Eagle Farm on June 11.
